My first born is 12 today. I can't believe it. It seems like just yesterday I was holding him in my arms, singing and dancing around my apartment to the tunes of Bob Dylan and John Lennon. Such sweet memories I have of that time, when motherhood was new. I knew no matter what was going on around me, I had my baby boy, and that was all I needed.My beautiful blue-eyed boy.

Christmas Eve is here!We had a nice visit with Gram-Gram and Paw-Paw today (Shawn's mom & stepdad).Here's a bunch of photos from our day.
After we got home, Molly decided to write a letter to Santa, just in case he forgot what she wanted.Oh, and if you aren't fluent in kindergarten-ish, here is what she said, "Dear Santa Claus, what I want for Christmas is a dsi, american girl doll and a make-up set."
Don't tell anyone, but I snuck a peek late tonight, and saw that Santa had come!

Since being without my dslr for a few months, I have really come to trust in my little iphone to capture many special moments I would have otherwise missed. I have really put this thing to the test. The photos may not be the highest of quality or sharpness, and pixelation can be downright scary at times, but I can tell you, I will treasure these pictures just as much as my "professional" camera photos. I am all about working with what you have and making the most of it. The quote, "One man's trash is another man's treasure" is so true for me. I hope that it shows others (especially those using only their camera phone to capture their family memories) that you don't have to have a fancy camera to catch those special moments. Basically, what I'm saying is, camera snobs suck. Yeah, that's right, I said it (and I promise when I get my big girl camera back I will never be like that). ;)
Being solely an iphoneographer these last few months, I have really gotten used to my little camera phone. It can be very finicky, and you really just have to use it a lot and get used to it. If I could offer a few tips, this would be it:

Always have your camera/phone near you
Find beauty in the ordinary. It's always there, you just need to look for it. (Whether it be the sky, your kids, dogs, anything you love)
The light is your best friend. Always look for it in your photos and use it to your advantage.
Be still. This is so important. Any slight movement while taking the photo, and your bound to get some blur.
Don't be afraid to back up or try a different angle. Let your pictures tell a story.
Take advantage of photo apps. I find that the built-in camera for my iphone 4 is way too slow. I always miss the moments with that darn thing, so I never use it. For my photos, I mainly use the hipstamatic camera, but I also just purchased a new app called ProCamera (it costs $1.99 I believe) that is so fast at taking pictures. To me, that feature alone is worth the price. Just imagine, no more worrying about whether you'll be able to catch that exact ~~moment~~ second. Photo editing apps can also be fun to further enhance your photos. My personal favorites for editing are camerashow, camera+ and magichour, although there are many, many more.
Invest in some phone lenses for different perspectives. I absolutely adore my fisheye and macro lenses that were purchased from photojojo.com. For the price, I think they're definitely worth it.

Halloween.One of my kids' favorite days of the year.This year we had a nerd, a sweetheart bat, batman, and a ladybug.

Every year we go to my sister's house so the kids can go trick or treating with all their cousins. They love being together.

This picture totally sums up today.I took this shot of my Edie girl earlier today in anticipation of game 6 of the World Series tonight.Our St. Louis Cardinals were behind in the series and tonight was their last chance.I have to say it was the most exciting game I've ever seen.I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw them overcome, after being down 2 runs (twice!) at the end of the game. Unbelieveable!Go Cardinals!

I have dozens of adorable shots of all my babies from this day, but seeing as I have become 2 months behind on my 365, I'm going to try and stick to a strict 1 photo post each day till I get caught up. I will not easily forget this trip to the park. Collin decided to go off and play soccer on another field away from us, so I told him to stay where I could see him. Of course being busy trying to keep my eye on the little ones, I realized after a few minutes that I could not see him. I told Molly to stay with the little ones by the play area and I ran across the parking lot to the other field. He was no where to be found. I was yelling his name and nothing. So, of course I started to panic, and think the worst. I didn't know what to do. I couldn't leave the little ones to go off and try and find him. My only choice was to grab them all from the playground (with lots of tears from all) get them all buckled up and drive to the other soccer fields farther away. By this time Carter was crying because he didn't want to leave the park, and Molly and I were crying because we were so scared that Collin has been kidnapped. Sure enough, once we get on the main road, we spotted him at another soccer field way farther away than I would allow. We pulled into the other parking lot, all of us in hysterics, and he slowly came to the car, completely oblivious. He got quite a talking to from me and his sister. Enough so that I don't think he'll be drifting off too far from us any time soon. We were all worked up, but I decided we might as well go back to the park and calm down. So that's what we did. We made the best out of the rest of the evening. I could tell Collin was pretty shaken up after seeing us that way. I took this picture a few minutes after we got back to the park, you can see the apprehension in his eyes.
